APR: Madison County GOP Chairman Sam Givhan qualifies for State Senate race


Thursday, Madison County GOP Chairman Sam Givhan has formally qualified with the Republican Party to run for the Alabama State Senate representing District 7 in Madison County.

“I am excited to hit the campaign trail and talk to the voters about the issues they care about most, things like the economy, education, and infrastructure,” Givhan said. “We’ve got great some great momentum happening in the district and around the state, and I know we can take this progress to the next level.”


Givhan is a shareholder at the law firm, Wilmer & Lee, P.A., where he specializes in commercial real estate transactions, development and financing for clients, including the City of Huntsville. He is also the owner of Houston Land Company and SHG Development Company, and he continues to be involved in his family’s farm, which was named Alabama’s Farm of Distinction in 2012. Givhan is the senior vice chairman of the Alabama Republican Party.
