 Manufacture Alabama Announces First Round of Endorsements in Legislatives Primaries 

Manufacture Alabama’s first round of legislative endorsements include a full slate of conservative and business-minded candidates who are pro-manufacturing and have demonstrated support for manufacturing issues. These individuals include incumbents with opposition or candidates in open seats who have previously served or are currently serving.

The primary election will be June 5 and we will release more endorsements before the primary, and then again before the general election.

Endorsed candidates are as follows:

APR: Madison County GOP Chairman Sam Givhan qualifies for State Senate race

Thursday, Madison County GOP Chairman Sam Givhan has formally qualified with the Republican Party to run for the Alabama State Senate representing District 7 in Madison County. “I am excited to hit the campaign trail and talk to the voters about the issues they care about most, things like the economy, education, and infrastructure,” Givhan said. “We’ve got great some great momentum happening in the district and around the state, and I know we can take this progress to the next level.” Givhan is a shareholder at the law firm, Wilmer & Lee, P.A., where he specializes in commercial real estate transactions, development and financing for clients, including the City of Huntsville. He is also the owner of Houston Land Company and SHG Development Company, and he continues to be involved in his family’s farm, which was named Alabama’s Farm of Distinction in 2012. Givhan is the senior vice chairman of the Alabama Republican Party.

This week’s Rising Republican Star is Sam Givhan of Madison County. A native of Dallas County and seventh generation Alabama farmer, Sam now resides in Huntsville. He is a shareholder at the law firm of Wilmer & Lee, P.A., director and secretary for Givhan Land & Cattle Company, Inc., and owner and manager for Houston Land Company, LLC and SHG Development Company, LLC. Mr. Givhan focuses his practice on real estate and corporate law. He represents numerous lenders, developers, builders and homeowners associations, including the City of Huntsville. A graduate of Auburn University, Sam received his law degree from the University of Alabama in 1994.
